Demand: Net Zero
To reach Net Zero almost all homes will require some level of retrofit. The costs of this work are significant and for many homeowners there is currently limited financial support.
Our research has uncovered that although consumer finances are tight, affordability is not the only determining factor when it comes to willingness to pay for home retrofit measures.
The research has highlighted the following barriers to increased homeowner take-up of retrofit measures:
Lack of personalised advice
Upfront costs
Lack of incentives
These barriers must all be addressed if we are to create an appropriate package information, incentives and support for homeowners seeking to decarbonise their homes.
