Letter to Ofgem regarding its fourth working paper on the design of the forthcoming energy price cap
In its fourth working paper, Ofgem was seeking feedback on how to incorporate the costs of social and environmental policies within the forthcoming energy price cap.
In our submission, we suggested using a blend of data sources to try and reach the most accurate picture of costs. We expressed support-in-principle for the inclusion of some kind of scaling factor to take account of any changes in exposure to policy costs, and encouraged Ofgem to give more detail on how it would incorporate smart meter costs.
