About the role

Could you help people struggling with the cost of heating their homes find ways forward and access the support they need?

As a Fuel Poverty Adviser, you'll provide specialist advice on energy efficiency and fuel-related debt, alongside wider advice on welfare benefits and income maximisation. You'll also help people access vouchers and other financial support, working with partner organisations and specialist teams where needed.

The service is delivered predominantly by telephone, with some email advice. You'll work across different channels on a rota basis, responding to incoming calls, call-backs and referrals. You'll need to be comfortable managing a varied workload and working towards targets, as well as being flexible to meet the needs of the service.

We're interested in hearing from people with advice experience, ideally in energy, debt or welfare benefits. We also welcome applications from those with less experience who are keen to develop their skills, with training and support provided.

Preference will be given to those able to work from one of our North Yorkshire offices: Northallerton, Richmond, Malton, Scarborough, Selby or Harrogate. We will also consider hybrid/remote working from within the UK.

Reserved interview dates: Week commencing 30 November 2026

Preferred start date: 11 January 2027
