About the role

The role involves being a specialist Welfare Benefits and Housing Caseworker, acting on clients’ behalf where appropriate and providing high-quality, holistic advice. The caseworker is responsible for delivering advice services via face-to-face, telephone and digital channels, including email, video call and web chat.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively in Welsh, both verbally and in writing, to meet the needs of Welsh-speaking clients and comply with Welsh language standards. The caseworker will work independently and undertake appointments within the local office, community outreach settings and at clients’ homes.

They will manage their own caseload and deliver effective, comprehensive casework to people living in the Merthyr Tydfil area, with a particular focus on complex welfare benefits and housing matters.
