About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the country’s largest Citizens Advice delivering advice and advocacy services to tens of thousands of people every year. We deliver services by phone, digitally and face to face, in multiple locations and to some of Sheffield’s most vulnerable communities. Sheffield Advocacy Hub provides all statutory advocacy in Sheffield as well as some non-statutory work. Advocacy enables people to get their voices heard, rights upheld and make their own informed decisions. Our advocates champion for people to be independent and live the lives they want to live as much as possible, particularly related to health and social care issues.
We are looking for a dynamic, resilient and innovative individual to lead our advocacy services including Sheffield Advocacy hub and be an active member of our leadership team. Our ideal candidate will
∙ Be an experienced and resourceful manager with an excellent understanding of service delivery, preferably including statutory advocacy services.
∙ Have a good understanding of person centred, high quality advocacy and how the advocacy needs of vulnerable people are best met.
∙ Have excellent skills and knowledge in respect of managing, supporting and supervising staff, team development and working in partnership with other organisations ∙ Have a track record of successfully managing income-generating activities based on staff performance
∙ Have demonstrable and significant experience of developing both new and existing services and leading service improvement.
We can offer you a supportive culture within a charity setting committed to social justice. We offer an attractive remuneration package with good terms and conditions of employment including: 35 hour working week; 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays); Pension scheme; Health Plan with integrated employee assistance programme.
