About the role
Citizens Advice in West Sussex (north, south, east) are a local charity who give free independent advice in West Sussex and are looking for an experienced Housing Solicitor to develop an exciting new housing casework project and pro bono programme.
You must be self-motivator and highly organised with a drive to grow a new project and deliver high quality and hit the ground running. You will need to meet the Legal Aid Agency Housing Law requirements and have experience of the Specialist Quality Mark in delivering housing casework. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of vulnerable clients, excellent negotiations skills to prevent homelessness, advocate for tenants, provide court representation and take a holistic approach so client needs are met. You will be able to work independently and able to manage your time to supervise pro bono students and corporate placements, work with engagement teams to demonstrate the impact of this project and develop funding opportunities.
