About the role

Citizens Advice Manchester is a charity which provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. We employ over 220 people and are one of the largest and most diversely funded Local Citizens Advice within the network. We are modern, innovative and progressive aiming to provide the advice people need for the problems they face and to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.

We have an exciting vacancy on our Energy Advice Service and are seeking to recruit a part-time Energy Champion. In this role you will directly engage with our partners to raise awareness of the service and the outcomes that it achieves for our clients. You’ll also create a community of energy awareness by liaising with community groups on a one to one basis to deliver energy awareness sessions to increase knowledge of energy efficiency measures and the dangers of carbon monoxide. You’ll also be required to attend events in the community to engage people in conversation around energy.

We’re looking for a candidate who is highly experienced in delivering training sessions and/or presentations to large groups which will comprise a variety of demographics who has excellent communication skills and is comfortable interacting with groups of people with a wide range of vulnerabilities. As this is a community based role, with travel required around Greater Manchester on a regular basis, it would be an advantage for the applicant to have a driving license/access to a vehicle (expenses will be paid).

We can offer you a supportive culture within a charity setting committed to social justice. Because our people always go the extra mile to help our clients, we reward them with an attractive remuneration package with excellent terms and conditions (see job pack for full info).
